MARLY XHT SYNTHETIC GREASE
PREMIUM GRADE EXTREME HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE
MARLY XHT SYNTHETIC GREASE is a lithium complex grease based on an optimal mixture of synthe¬tic fluids intended to give the best lubrication at low as well as high operating temperatures and at the same time maintain the properties of mineral oil in relation to the rubber and polymer materials existing in conventional seals.
The type of base fluids and thickener of which the product is composed makes it very suitable for central lubrication systems of good type and quality at temperatures down to -30°C as well as continuous running at temperatures up to + 150°C. Occasional tempe¬ra¬ture peaks of + 225°C create no problem.
MARLY XHT SYNTHETIC GREASE has good rust preventing properties making it suitable for wet surroundings. According to the SKF nomenclature TI 8306 it should be classed according to "c" which means that the product can handle a small amount of water in a bearing.
MARLY XHT SYNTHETIC GREASE has an excellent oxidation inhibitor which in combination with a very thermally stable thickener and carefully chosen base fluids makes it very useful at elevated operation temperatures.
MARLY XHT SYNTHETIC GREASE has been developed primarily for lubrication of roller bearings in drier sections of paper making machines where very high continuous operating temperatures create a major problem.
In conditions where the surroundings are damp and corrosive but not directly wet MARLY XHT is excellent at tempe¬ratures up to 200°C even as operating temperature.
The use of the grease at these high temperatures is limited in the first instance by the base fluid's resistance to thermal degradation. The base oils and also the additive have been carefully chosen to ensure that no ingredients or degradation products can catalyse an oxidation or splitting of the thic-kener, which in normal cases has a dropping point of >300°C.
This means that for very short periods the product can endure temperature peaks up to approx. 240 - 250°C. However this is not desirable either for the bearing metals or the lubricant and the service life is affected greatly. It is therefore important to keep the re-lubrication intervals at the right level.
